SACH Institute, in collaboration with Sufi Council , and Sufi Connect , and jointly organized by The Albirunian , presents “Katas to Nandana: A Mystical Journey.” This event will take you on a transformative journey to explore the spiritual essence of Katas Raj Temples and the natural beauty of the Khewra Salt Mines, accompanied by captivating performances of Sufi music.

This mystical experience is designed for those who seek to connect with the rich history, spiritual heritage, and cultural treasures of Pakistan. From the soul-stirring music to the fascinating history of the Salt Range, this event offers something for everyone.

Day 1: February 18, 2024

Exploration of Katas Raj & Musical Evening in Khewra

 

12:00 PM – 01:00 PM | Arrival and Welcome at Katas Raj Temples

Attendees gather at the historic Katas Raj Temples.

Welcome and registration of participants.

01:00 PM – 02:00 PM | Lunch at Katas Raj

A lunch buffet will be served, offering traditional local cuisine.

02:00 PM – 05:00 PM | Guided Tour of Katas Raj Temples

A detailed tour of the Katas Raj complex, exploring its history, architecture, and

spiritual significance.

Insight into the temples’ connection with Hindu mythology and its cultural heritage.

05:00 PM | Departure to Khewra City

Participants board buses and depart for Khewra City, a scenic drive through the Salt

Range.

07:00 PM – 08:00 PM | Dinner in Khewra

Dinner is served, featuring local delicacies.

08:30 PM – 10:30 PM | Musical Concert (Folk & Contemporary)

An enchanting evening of folk and contemporary music under the stars.

Performances by local and renowned musicians, blending traditional Sufi music with

modern interpretations.

10:30 PM | End of Day 1

Participants retire for the night in Khewra, with accommodations arranged.

Day 2: February 19, 2024

Khewra Salt Mines Tour, Salt Mela, and Symposium at Al-Biruni College

Breakfast is served at the hotel/venue in Khewra.

09:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Tour of Khewra Salt Mines

A guided tour of the Khewra Salt Mines, the second-largest salt mine in the world.

Exploration of the mines’ historical and economic significance, including salt

sculptures and crystal formations.

11:00 AM – 01:00 PM | Salt Mela (Salt Products Exhibition)

A vibrant exhibition showcasing export-quality salt products and items crafted from

salt.Local artisans display and sell their goods, promoting the region’s salt trade.

01:30 PM – 02:30 PM | Lunch in Khewra

A lunch buffet to refresh participants before the next leg of the journey.

02:30 PM – 03:30 PM | Departure to Al-Biruni College, Pind Dadan Khan

Travel to Al-Biruni College for the afternoon symposium.

03:30 PM – 05:00 PM | Symposium on ‘Salt Range Saga’ at Al-Biruni College

An academic discussion exploring the history, culture, and scientific contributions of

the Salt Range region.

Presentations by historians, archaeologists, and cultural experts.

05:00 PM – 06:00 PM | Tea Break

Refreshments served, allowing participants to network and exchange ideas.

06:00 PM – 08:00 PM | Sufi Qawwali Performance

A captivating evening of Sufi Qawwali, featuring a renowned qawwali group.
