Dr. Nancy Hartevelt Kobrin
Dr. Nancy Hartevelt Kobrin holds a doctorate in 16th Century Islamic literature – aljamía, i.e. Old Spanish in Arabic script of the Moriscos, the forced converts to Catholicism. Since childhood she has been interested in Convivencia, coexistence and hence her extensive study of Iberia. Upon completion of this work she went on to train to become a psychoanalyst becoming an expert in PTSD. She is an expert in early childhood development. As a former an external expert at La Universidad de Granada, she now works internationally in citizen diplomacy promoting better relations among peoples and their nations. She is author of five books translated into several languages. Early on in her academic studies she delved into Kabbalah and Sufism. Since she enjoys people, it was only natural to study their languages. In her free time, she has been studying South Asian languages and Korean.
